Happy Anniversary

Happy Anniversary Day to me & Erik!! Check us out "through the years". hahaha. You know what is funny to me is - when you get married, you get a new anniversary & celebrate that. What about all of the time & energy you put into the relationship BEFORE the wedding. It seems strange to say - we've been married 1 year but together for 4 or whatever. There should be a combo # or something.

Fleet Week

It is FLEET WEEK here which means the Blue Angels are in town. Check out these cool pics!! THey were practicing & flying over our office building all week. It is pretty cool but at first, all you hear is rumbling and swooshing before you realize what is going on.

Crazy of the Day

Yesterday, my bus driver almost hit a biker. He was beeping and the biker was screaming at the driver. It was a mess. Well, check out this accident with a Truck & a biker. How in the world does this happen!?


A woman bicycling on Haight Street between Clayton and Belvedere was injured in a crash involving multiple delivery trucks between 9 and 10 a.m. today. Details are still unclear, but according to an eyewitness account, she was taken away in an ambulance, conscious but with apparent injuries to her legs.

The eyewitness, Jose Luis, said the woman appeared to dodge out of the way when a delivery truck abruptly opened its door, causing her to ultimately collide with another truck, the Pepsi truck shown in the pictures here. The Pepsi truck was either parked or moving slowly when the bicyclist collided with it.

My eye is twitching. It's definitely time to go home. Tonight, Amy is coming over so we can eat pizza, drink beer, and watch Hocus Pocus. I can't wait. Then, tomorrow - napa!! wohoo.

Thursday

HOW is it Thursday? I am baffled each week. One day it's Monday the next it is Friday. School tonight. Then, the weeeekend.

This weekend is Erik & I's anniversary. We have been together for 6 years. UNREAL. We got together when I was 23 and he was 24. It doesn't seem like it's been 6 years. Well, maybe it has. I don't know. We are going up to Napa on Saturday! I can't wait. We are going to have dinner up there,too.

Couch

Erik & I really really really want to get a new couch. The couches we have right now are hand me downs which is not a big deal. They have these stretchy covers on them & you don't even realize its a covered couch! They are starting to not be so squishy anymore though.

I love the sets that our parents have - they are big, squishy, comfy. You can lay on it and fall asleep. Its soooo cozy. We want to get one sectional couch instead of 2. Our apartment is so tiny but here is what we like -





Now, Im sure you all are like - how are you going to fit that into your teeny tiny place. We would have to get rid of that small table in the corner & then we are good to go! I'd rather be comfortable than have a ton of space. We think it will be fine. TOo bad they don't have 'Bob's discount furniture out here!' hah.Man, I don't miss those commercials!!

Surf's Up

Well, Erik had an interesting thing happen to him today. He was out surfing & got run over by another surfer. Literally, he was laying face down on his board & a guy surfed over him. Specifically, his butt! The fin on the other guys board 1)poked a hole in Erik's wet suit and 2)made a nasty slice on butt cheek. Scary!! He said the other guy did not know how to surf & control himself.

I think the funniest thing was that when I came home today, Erik had DUCT TAPED gauze to his butt to cover the cut. Too funny.

He played hockey tonight so I guess he is feeling fine!

Parking

When you live in a city, parking is scarce. We are lucky in our area that there is often parking available. However, on the weekends, it gets busy. Especially since that restaurant opened across the street a few mos ago. Annnyyyyway. When living in the city, you just get use to seeing dings on your car, um - your side mirror ripped off, people parked too close, scrape marks on your bumper - you name it.

So, I come home from the gymnastics gym, parallel park and go inside. I think nothing of it. I am sitting on the couch & the blinds are open. I see a guy looking at our car. He is rubbing his head like, oh my god. His girlfriend is out there, too. They are looking at his bumper, our car. I suddenly got really nervous like - omg, did i hit him? no, i know i didn't. Then, a cop drove down the street and the guy walk over to him. I was like in a level 10 freakout. Cop doesn't stop or come over.

Then, I see the guy walk in between my car & his. Basically, I think he thought I parked too close to him and was freaking out. What a loser. Get used to it! People are parked touching me sometimes. I don't call the cops. Can you just imagine what he said to the cop, "Um, someone parked to close to me. Can you do anything?" The cop was probably like, you arent serious, right?

Well, he got in his car & got out. You just do like a 50 point turn & get out. We all do it. Deal with it!!

Sunday

This weekend was so much fun. Cristin & her friend Molly came down on Friday night. We ate, drank, and watched Hocus Pocus and....Sleepaway Camp 2. It is on demand. I saw Sleepaway Camp 1 like 10 years ago. They are so lame but funny.

Anyway, we passed out before Erik came home & he called us old ladies. haha. Ummm true!

Saturday, I had to study for my test and then we went to the Oktoberfest. It was really fun. Here are some pics!

Today, I worked at the gymnastics gym. I haven't been there in forever. We haven't had many parties over the summer. It will start to pick up now that it is getting cold out. It was fun to be back.

Now, I guess I shouldn't be surprised by things like this b/c I do live in SF. However, today I was surprised to see a woman who dresses like a man in the locker room at the gym. I saw her walking around with no top on but she came into the bathroom and put a bandage thing around her boobs to flatten them out. She was right next to me at the lockers, when I came back to my locker to get my stuff. She was changing and I saw her very hairy legs. She had short hair and was putting on mens jeans and boxers and stuff so that she looked like a boy. It was just so odd to see. Then, I thought how it must make her feel that she wants to be a man, but has to come into the women's dressing room....The whole thing is so foreign to me but I can imagine that they have to deal with a lot of weird feelings & stereotypes.

Crazy of the Day

On our morning walk this AM, Evie and I saw a little show. We have 3 resident homeless people in the park 1)The leader - this blonde due 2)The tranny - a guy who wears wigs and womens clothes he finds on the street 3)Young Guy - this guy looks like he is 30 yrs old.

In our park, there is a big monument thing with a circular set of stairs around it. Essentially, you have yourself a circular stage if you want. Well, The Tranny was definitely taking advantage of it. He had on underwear that showed his but and then had some fabric draped down the front of him because ahem, he is NOT a woman. He was dancing and singing or something.

Always something here.

Happy October

Last night, I got everything ready to start October. I decorated, made the pumpkin bread, and "watched" Hocus Pocus. I say 'watched' because in true Heather fashion, I only stayed awake for the first hmmmm 20 min? I last remember seeing when they are all about to go the museum to light the black flame candle. Pathetic, I know! In exciting news, Cristin is coming down this weekend and is sleeping over on Friday. So, I think we may try to actually watch it.
