Mom's Visit: Friday

This past weekend was very fun with my Mom in town! I was off on Friday and picked her up at the airport around 11am. We went to lunch at The Grind to kick off the visit. After lunch, we headed home to play with Evie and watch....Hocus Pocus!!

We met up with Erik for happy hour at Pier 23 and then went to dinner at Social Kitchen.

We also took Kimmy here, when she visited back in May.

We shared a few dishes:

We were all sort of falling asleep at the end of dinner so we went home after dinner to go to bed. On Saturday, we headed to Livermore...

Excited Thursday

Well we are super excited because tomorrow, my Mom comes to visit! Yippeeeeee!!

We are planning on doing some wedding stuff which will be great such as show her our venue, try on wedding dresses, and talk with the Florist. We will, of course, get some viewings of Hocus Pocus in there! It should be a very fun weekend plus, that means I am off from work on Friday and Monday. Woohoo!!

Tonight, we are going to head out to the town we are getting married in to meet with a potential DJ. My friend used this group for her wedding and loved them. So, hopefully, it's a quick and easy meeting and we can cross DJ's off the list!

In other news, the weather here is so crazy. It has been pouring rain on and off the past few days. It's strange to have rain in October because usually it doesn't show up until November. You know what rain means for Evie....hating life & not wanting to go outside. I had to be out there dangling a cheese stick in her face for her to pee. haha

I also received Evie's halloween costume today. I will give you one teaser about this....Dinosaurs.

Melissa McCarthy

Everyone knows my complete obsession with Gilmore Girls and how I want to be besties with Lorelai and Rory. I really want to go to Luke's with them for a burger, I want to go to a festival in the town square and pick up groceries at Doose's Market. I never really thought about hanging out with Sookie, Lorelai's Bestie, until now.

And, it's not Sookie that I want to hang out with but the real person - Melissa McCarthy. Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel don't seem that fun in real life but Melissa does. She was on GG for years and has been in a new show, Mike & Molly. She was the hilarious group leader in The Back Up Plan and stole the show in Bridesmaids, which really was her breakout role. Now, she is finally getting a ton of attention which is well deserved.


She recently hosted SNL and oh.my.god. I was dying.

Not every skit was amazing but there were some that were out of control. Case in point - Hidden Valley Ranch. I hope Hollywood starts to see how great she is and give her some more amazing roles!
