On the Pot

Our neighbors are a couple that are prob the same age as us. They smoke pot - all. the. time. It reeks when you walk in the building. They crank up the music and it stinks. It seeps into our apt and is stinky. Now, they have a dog and I wonder, does the dog get high with them?

Another thing about them is, we never see them go to work. Erik is here during the day - they are home. I am here at night - they are home. We are nice to each other but not friends. I mean, I guess they could invite us over smoke pot sometime since they seem to have so much of it - but alas, we aren't into that.

Anyway, still wondering how the dog reacts to the pot.

Done!

My final is over. It was hard but I got the essay. It was how to regulate blood calcium when it is high. I'm sure I messed up on some info on the fat soluble vitamins. In other news, I got a 19/20 on my Diet Project we did. We had to input our food and analyze the data.

I came home and cleaned and cleaned. You know how when you were in college and you just let everything pile up while you studied? That is what happened here this week. I told Erik I wasn't doing anything until the final was over. So, I made good on my promise and cleaned like crazy tonight.

Tomorrow is Friday. Word on the street is we are getting out verrrry early tomorrow. Our Clients start summer hours tomorrow aka getting out at Noon every Friday until Labor Day. We MIGHT be following that but we'll see.

Passed Out

Here's Evie, after our morning out, passed out. She had to sit right next to me on the baby couch on a pile of clean laundry & her blanket. Look at her poor, patchy fur.

Evie's Butt & City Hall

Today, we went to our routine visit for anal glands today. Evie is feeling better, I think. I think she was really uncomfortable.

I also 'stopped' at the court house to file my small claims papers because I am suing Dog Owner #1. I chose to have the Sheriff's Dept hand deliver the court papers so after Sm. Claims, I had to go over to the Sheriff's Office. This was in City Hall. I have never been in City Hall but it is a beautiful building. While I was in there, I snapped a few pics with my phone -













Anyway, I have a feeling I will get an email from this guy when he gets served. We'll see. Oh I think I saw the woman who yelled at me walking Biting Dog #1. She was walking with a friend and I saw them but was watching Evie pee or something. I looked up & I could see the friend staring at me. Whatever!

HOW is it the end of May already? I mean, seriously. Time is going by WAY too fast. It is Memorial Day weekend. I can't believe it.

Any good plans for the weekend?

We don't have any yet but it is supposed to be sunny & nice out. I would really like to relax in the park with some beers. Or golf. Or hike with Evie somewhere. I really want to see that movie - Night at the Museum 2. I know, I know but it looks funny!

Gossip Girl

Did anyone see the GG finale? How lame. They were all caring about Gossip Girl after they graduated. Get a life! Serena is so superficial and Dan is SUCH a geek!! UGH and Rufus and Lily - will never make it. BUT, if you saw in the end, I think the guy Dan met at the coffee shop is his 1/2 brother. Finally - Chuck & Blair. We'll see what happens! Until next season....

While walking Evie this AM, I heard opera music. A guy was walking around the park with his headphones on singing opera. He was really good, too!

The SF 49ers might be on the move. But for reals this time. While Bay Area sports teams, like 8-year-olds, like to threaten to pack up their belongings and runaway, some sort of deal was finalized yesterday with regard to the 49ers moving to Santa Clara after the team and city officials "reached a deal on how to finance the building of a new stadium."

According to AP, "the two sides agreed on a financing package for a proposed 68,500-seat stadium." Now all the move needs is a city council vote in June, some sort of green impact reports, and then a vote by Santa Claraians, which is expected to happen in March of 2010. Voters are most likely to pass the measure. Why? Because Santa Clara wants to be known for something besides....wait, what is Santa Clara known for? Nothing? Nothing at all? Exactly.

Tuesday

Today is so busy at work and all I can think about is my final on Thurs. We have been working on this presentation for about a week, my boss had to work on it over the weekend, and we are waiting for some final edits. I thought I was going to have to go to the Client but now I don't. Its just me & my co-worker here as my boss is out at appts and the Client today. So, I might be going home at 2pm to do this call in for the presentation.

Then, I think I am working from home tomorrow AND Thursday since my coworker & boss (L & J) will be at mtgs all day. What is the point of me sitting here alone!?

I can't wait for the final on Thurs to be over. Then, I have my other final next Wednesday. Then, done until July.

Monday

Well, this weekend was very, very fun and as usual, I was very sad to see Kimmy leave. We are trying to convince her to move out here!

On Friday, she arrived around lunch time. We went to our fave lunch spot, The Grind. Then, we got manicures. Then, we went down to the Embarcadero for Happy Hour. It was so warm & sunny out! We started at Gordon Biersch, then Epic, and finished at Palomino.

On Saturday, we took Evie to Crissy Field to run in the water.







Then, we went to the Giants/Mets game. It was SCORCHING hot out. It was like 90 out. We were dying.









On Sunday, it was the infamous drunken road race that is Bay to Breakers!

Well, we finished the weekend with watching episode after episode of Gilmore Girls. She left around noon today. Now, we look forward to Seattle in July!

Biggest Loser

WOW. Did you guys see the finale. Helen totally beat the two front runners I thought for sure Mike or Tara would win. Helen is 48 and was almost 300lbs when she joined. Now she is 117!! She lost 140 lbs. Not only that, Mike lost almost 200lbs and Tara lost 155. That is crraaaaazy!! So inspiring. Also, the 'at home loser' was a 64 year old man who lost 177lbs!!! More than 50% of his body fat. It truly does not matter how old, young, or fat you are - anyone can do it.

Tuesday

Tonight - The Biggest Loser finale is on, The NY Houswives Reunion is on and the NJ Housewives premiere is on. What a night. Thank goodness for DVR!!

Cristin is staying over again. I will be studying fat soluble vitamins. Awesome.

I am also talking to Sharon, our pet psychic. I'm sure most of you know that we have talked to her in the past. Ok I have. She is always right, its eerie. I am talking to her to see if she knows why Evie got bit. I will keep you posted.

Monday

My week started out great because my friend Betsy made me an amazing dinner on Sunday night. She cooked white fish with a topping of dijon mustard and breadcrumbs. To die for. I tried to recreate this last night using chicken and it came out awesome. (Kimmy- Ill make it for you when you come)

In addition to amazing chicken, Evie did amazingly well in Petco, again. We picked up a toy for a friend's dog and we never go in the toy aisle. Evie was in heaven. She started pushing the lower toys with her face. I picked up a turtle that she loved & made a funny noise. I got it for her because i never by her toys. She successfully played with it too until she ripped it when I wasn't looking. This toy does NOT go in the toy box. I am determined to make it last.

Cristin is in town to finish her two classes so she stayed at our house last night. Yippeeee. We watched Gossip Girl and had the best ice cream ever - No idea what brand but it is Caramel Caribou or something. SO good. So we did that while I finished one of my assignments. A good start to the week considering the past few weeks!

It's festival season here. This means there will be a million festivals for everything under the sun. Introducing, the How Weird festival. Took place yesterday downtown. While I was driving over to Erik's work, I hit the traffic for this festival. Lovely. Here are some pictures. I did see a woman dressed as Snow White walking down the street. Before I knew the festival was going on, I thought to myself 'Only here'.

Yesterday, I took Evie up to Buena Vista for a hike. It was warm, she was panting. She loves reaching the top of the park and rolling round in the grass. We took some pictures of all of the flowers up there, too.
