The Emcee was hilarious! He opened with saying something about how "...I see you all piling your plates high with pasta and I just want to remind you that this is not your last meal. You can eat again tomorrow after the race!" haha Apparently he is a writer for Runner's World!
Only 1% of people in the world have ever run a marathon. Unbelievable that Erik will be a part of that 1%!!
This girl was actually on our run team this year. She had cancer in college, got a bone marrow transplant, found out who her donor was, and THEY ARE RUNNING NIKE TOGETHER. How amazing is that!!
When we got home, we finalized everything for the AM including laying out everything we needed to bring with us, what to wear, and eat before the race.
I got fun, pink sparkly letters to put on my shirt. We all had our names on our shirt because this way, when spectators see you coming, they can yell your name!
As for tomorrow, we'll see how it goes. We have run this course in pieces but the hills are killer. We know the start could be slow because there are 25,000 runners. There WILL be areas where it could be slow due to the amount of runners. Overall, it should be a great experience and an emotional, fun race. We have come so far together & we can't wait!!
