Long Travel Day

Today started at 4:30am when I got picked up by a cab to go to the airport. We took off at 6am for Chicago. After connecting in Chicago, we landed in Cleveland around 4pm. Then, we rented a car and finally arrived at the hotel by 5:30. Whew.

We met with two of our clients for dinner at a local spot with "Ohio" food, called Gasoline Alley. We ordered a bunch of food to share including:

Kraut Balls (Didn't try, they had pork in them)
Reuben Pizza (Didn't try, don't eat beef)
Fried Pickles

For dinner, I had...

Glen Bob’s Eggplant Sandwich
Fried, breaded eggplant, smothered in mozzarella &
provolone cheese, layered with tomato sauce and
served on a grilled roll.

The sandwich came with FOUR pieces of eggplant on it that I could only eat half of it.

After dinner, we headed back to the hotel where I promptly got into bed to watch TV. It has been a looonnng day!

Lazy Sunday

On Sunday morning, Evie and I went on a long walk and hiked up to the top of Buena Vista Park. It is definitely a workout getting to the top! After that, Erik was surfing so we also got a chance to catch up on the DVR.

As for Gossip Girl, the Blair/Dan thing NEEDS to be over. So lame! GLEE was pretty heavy & deep but nice to see them addressing the problems going on in schools today regarding bullying.

Anyway, we also watched the Oscars which weren't that exciting. Billy Crystal was pretty good as a host though - he had some funny, dry jokes.

Here's a typical Sunday at our house while we watch tv....everyone dozing off!

This week is pretty busy & I am heading to Ohio for work this week. Evie is going to camp so that will be exciting for her!

Sutro Baths Saturday

On Saturday, we got some time outside, some errands done, and time with friends.

We went for a run and cleaned up the apartment. Evie and I went out for a walk at the Sutro Baths. The Sutro Baths are down next to Ocean Beach and I think they are one of the coolest things in the city. They are literally remains of an old Bath house. Here's the history -

Here is what they look like now:

Here's what they used to look like:

So cool. We ran around along that mini-pool and climbed up some rocky/dirty steps. It was SUPER windy down there so we were down there for around 30 min. We also hit up Pet Food Express for some Evie supplies.

After running around, Erik and I went up the Marina for some errands. We stopped for Pizza at Avellino. See what I mean about how much pizza we eat!? We headed up to Chestnut St. where we hit up the Gap, Papyrus, Marine Layer, and Kara's Cupcakes.

At night, we headed east to see our friends Tiffany, Kelsey, and Sean. Tiffany and Sean's birthdays were two weeks ago so we went out to celebrate. First, we had dinner at Pyramid Brewery. Had a yummy Southwest chicken salad!
After dinner, we went back to Kelsey & Sean's house and hung out. We drank wine, played Just Dance, and just chilled out.

It was a great day & night!
