On Saturday, we started the day off right with a visit to breakfast at Radish. We introduced Kimmy to our fave spot and thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast.
After breakfast, we headed out to Livermore. We had an appointment with our Wedding Consultant to pick out cake! We decided on the flavor of the cake and also the design. It was pretty easy & painless so that was good.
Wente Vineyards to choose our wine for the wedding. We had free wine tasting vouchers which was awesome. Wente also just received the Winery of the Year award so we were able to get a good deal on some bottles of wine that they were showcasing. After wine tasting, we had lunch at The Restaurant at Wente. It was soooo good. We love this restaurant!
We started with the squash popovers with point reyes blue cheese and Erik had the garden pumpkin soup with almond milk and curried apple butter. I had the roasted 38 north chicken breast with yellow eye beans, artichokes, roasted garlic and jus, Kimmy had the agnolotti of winter squash with fried sage, brown butter and olivina fig balsamic, and Erik had the halibut with kale, grilled leeks, fennel, pistachio and meyer lemon-olive sauce. Everything was delish except for the popovers. I don't love blue cheese but wanted to try them anyway but they were too blue cheesy for me.
After that, we headed home to work on the wedding invitations. I had an all out fight with the printer to try to print the envelopes correctly so that was fun. Kimmy helped stuff the envelopes and we got them all done WHILE watching Sound of Music(Yes, this was probably Erik's favorite evening of his life. haha) and drinking Edmeades Zinfandel. We also made pizza for dinner!
It was a great day & night! Super fun, but quick two days with Kimmy since she left on a very early plane on Sunday!
