What the.....?

Clearly, he picked her to try to get some of Hilary's voters to vote for him.

Here's the 411 on Sarah Palin, McCain's VP Pick:
  • Sarah Palin, 44, has been governor of Alaska since 2006
  • Before becoming governor, Palin was mayor and council member of a small town
  • Palin known for backing tough ethical standards, focus on energy, natural resources
The Republican ticket can really start to dial back the 'Obama's not ready' lines because look at Mc Cain choosing this woman who has barely been a Governor for 2 years. What sort of 'problems' does Alaska have that this woman can carry over strategic solutions to the US?

Oh, and she SUPPORTS drilling in Alaska. And, she hunts. And her husband works for an oil company.

for one - Alaska had problems with corruption which she has been trying hard to clean up since she became governor. I'm not a republican but I think McCain did what he needed to do - pick someone different ... outside of Washington - Because she's a governor, she has governing experience which none of the other candidates including McCain have.
Biden is ok, but not for VP - Obama made a mistake treating Hillary with disrespect and not even considering her --

PS -- there are a lot of P.O.'d women out there because of the way Hillary was treated, McCain might well get votes now.

Well she is a very new governor - about 2 years and before that was a mayor of a town of 10,000 people. She has zero foreign policy experience and I really do not think she will pull in HIlary votes for him. Like CNN said today, you can't put a different skirt on someone and think she will do what HIllary will do.

Biden balances Obama. He brings the FP experience for sure. He has been in Washington and knows the ins and outs.

What disrespect did Hillary get? B/c obama didnt pick her for VP? He didnt have to.

How did Obama disrespect Hillary? I am sure that Obama considered her but felt that being someone who wants to change things he decided to choose someone different. Did he publicly ridicule her? I respect that he went with someone else and wasn't pressured by the many forces that wanted him to pick Hillary. Like people in his own party , people who are voting for him, and the media.

You know what? McCain did the EXACT same thing Obama did when choosing his running mate. He picked someone to balance him. McCain's choice was a direct response to Obama's choice. To say that she doesn't have experience is crazy when comparing her 2 years (while minimal) to Obama's 143 days in the senate (let me reiterate....143 days) is ridiculous!

Obama disrespected Hillary by not even considering her for VP - he got the delegates but she got more popular votes than him so she should have been at the least, considered --

the Democrats can't say a thing about Palin's inexperience because she definitely has a lot more than Obama. Watch how they stay silent.
McCain has Foreign policy experience He needed someone younger, outside of Washington with a different perspective.
And what a strong person she is, governor, mother of 5 one of which has special needs.
I DO NOT like Obama ...

PS -
If Obama had chosen Hillary, McCain would have chosen someone else ---

I know 3 women each from different walks of life who were for Hillary and who were looking for a reason to vote for McCain --- his choice of Palin gave them one.
Unfortunately, since CT is such a liberal state, those 3 votes won't make much difference.

It is true that McCain did the same thing as Obama when he picked his running mate. But, to think that McCain is a better candidate because he chose a women is ridiculous.
